Dailywell 6M Series Miniature Slide Switch available via Live Electronics

January 2008 - Live Electronics, the new specialist electromechanical distributor, releases the 6M series of new lightweight and compact slide switches from Dailywell. RoHS compliant and suitable for lead-free soldering, the 6M series offers side or top slide action, four pin configurations, single or double pole switching with or without centre-off, and silver or gold plated pin options.

The space saving design makes the 6M suitable for a wide range of applications from hand-held instrumentation to a variety of portable devices in test and measurement and consumer products.

Technical features include: flush or raised actuation; initial contact resistance of 50 mOhms max; mechanical life of 20,000 cycles; insulation resistance 1,000MOhms minimum, dielectric breakdown strength of 1000Vrms@sea level; and an operating temperature range of -40degC to +80degC. Minimum load and breaking capacity is dependent on which of the six contact material combinations is selected. The 6M data sheet details process requirements for lead-free soldering using manual, wave and vapour-phase techniques.
